The meeting was chaired by Ken Jones, Vice President due to the absence of the President due to illness.
Unfortunately, our proposed speaker had also called off due to illness and it fell to our member Barry Roberts to take over.
Barry spoke at length about his life and the significant events that had influenced him as a person. His talk was both interesting and thoughtful and he emphasised the need to keep a personal log of significant events in our lives quoting a colleague who had kept a daily journal since the age of four.
He went on to talk about the loss of vocational aspects of work and the value of service to the community. He suggested we should all grasp every opportunity that presents itself in life and make the best of it.
